I am looking at buying a digital camera for under $250

I am looking at buying a digital camera for under $250, with good video recording capacity, and durable to family life with two smallish children.
Is there anyone can give me a good advice?

Lot's to choose from.

Personally, I want a camera that uses standard AA batteries. You can buy NiMH batteries cheap and in a pinch you can use alkaline.

Also look for one with image stabilization.

I have this one, great pictures, SMALL size (I take pictures because I have it with me), small because of NiMH batteries (no way I would go back to a HUGE AA batt camera), Great pics, and features.

Edit: I also bought another battery, so I can shoot forever.

Good cell phones are very good. They are getting better. In fact the digital camera market is loosing sales to camer phones. I have profssional ones and several small ones. I I have Nikon but for samll ones it is hard to be Sony.
