I started following here a few years ago and then have been distracted by life. I have been doing some spring cleaning and organization of my garage so excuse the mess.

I just got a new US General tool box last week and it is wonderful to have my sad set of tools organized and easy to find. I think I have by space optimized the best I can but I am open to any suggestions if you have them.

I used to have a one car garage and car port and one day I hated it and when my wife got home from work both of those were gone. Let's just say the night did not go well.

8 years later and 2 kids and a cat, the whole outside of the house is done (windows, siding Insulation and roof) and much to my wifes pleasure she took part of my new garage for a kitchen extention.

I new nothing when I started but have completed it all myself including taking a cabinet class for the kitchen as well as creating my own concrete counters.

Yes it was from the garage I tore down so that is an access door to my backyard. There is a pad long enough for my jeep and trailer behind it but it is primarily used as a patio. I can drive my jeep and trailer into the backyard and with about a 12 PT turn I can turn around and come back through if desired.

XJ: i'm not sure i would have tore off a garage without the skills to put it back together, but i did bust open the floor in our only bathroom to connect our kitchen to the sewer without having the skills to put it back together right away.

sounds like it all is working out and i'm still married to the same gal even though she had 3 babies with that hole in the bathroom floor until i finally learned how to install tile.

one question i have is you practically have an awesome steel table hidden. did you make it or I would like details of it's size, weight and how it is put together.

I did have a contractor living across the street that gave me a lot of pointers in my project.

The table is the front box/kingpin of a Semi trailer. There is a trailer company nearby that x rays them and if there is any imperfection they scrap them. All I had to add was the legs. It weighs about 800 lbs. Luckily I don't have to move it anywhere. When I do I use an engine hoist.

Before I put it in place it was really funny to watch people try to move it. It does Not look as heavy as it is. It is really nice to be using a grinder and to be able to stop it on the table.

XJ: that steel table did look fairly stout. congrats on completing your garage and house projects on your own too.

Well my jeep is complete so I think I am going to add some modifications to my little tent trailer. I would like to add a water heater ans change my kitchen setup on it.

I had two unexpected back surgeries the last year and a half so I need to start with something easy.
