Hi guys, picked up a Champion VR5-8 and would like to install a aftercooler. I was looking at the Derale 13700 trans cooler that some people use but it only has 6an fittings which is 3/8, wouldnt that be a restriction? I also saw on here guys using the Hayden oil cooler,it has 3/4 inlets but some people say that the pulley coming off the pump barely pushes any air. I was looking at the copper pipe setup but it takes up to much room and adding all that up is $$$$. I would like a trans cooler like the 13700 but with bigger inlets if possible.

I'd recommend the Hayden setup. Take a look at their catalog, they have 1/2" as well. Fairly cheap way to go.
As to the airflow, you can do a auxiliary fan but honestly my setup reduces the air to room temp and only uses the pulley fan.
The pulley fan on mine doesn't have a ton of flow and I have some added mesh that reduces flow even more but it still works out better than you'd think.
Worst case scenario you add an auxilary fan later.

Thanks Antman, I have 3/4 coming out of pump and tank so i will stick with that. Unf my compressor did not come with a belt guard and they are way to expensive to buy new so I will build my own mounting setup.
