We just had our (40 x 30' x 4" @3500 w/ fiber reinforcement) floor poured ~3 weeks ago. We want to coat it so we won't mess it up with our 65 Buick Riviera GS & 69 Nova SS. The Buick is good girl but the Nove likes to mark her territory... I don't know what to choose a floor paint or an epoxy? Any suggestions on what brand would be the best, how & when it can be done and how long before we can park on it after coating. Temperatures are still above 45°F around here, is it a concern if temps. drop below that? I certainly do not want the stuff to peel up or chip / scratch easily or stain. Any help out there as to experiences good / bad. Should we try to do it ourselves or have a professional do it for us? We are located in Wilmington DE.

Whatever you put down put a garage mat or something to catch the fluids that leak. Whatever you put down will stain eventually if the oil just sits on it.

First, you want to make sure everything is cured. 30 days. I would argue that your temp will inhibit that but last time I suggested that those with a lot of experience disagreed. Run a moisture test.

Second, I know our products won't go down well under 70 degrees F

Use an Epoxy or Polyurea depending on what all leaks. Look at the Chemical resistance test of whatever you use.

Agree with hardhat. Put something under it. We sell mats, many use cardboard or plywood.

Research Research Research. Take time and look around the site. Look at the failures so you can understand on what no to do. Every type of floor covering mentioned on this site and many others will show you not every type if the same and they all have pros and cons.

I installed Epoxy-Coat and if you use the search button at the top and type in John Deere you can see our start to finish job. There are so many great looking jobs on this site and several of them have reposted after years of use with the same result as day one. As you will find many complaints and they are just as useful for data. After you research and have real questions you may get more help.
