My garage is 16 feet high and I want to be able to lift around 1500 lbs. i have two lofts around the perimeter at 8 feet. The garage is 40 feet wide. Has anyone seen a gantry that is 15 feet high that would allow me to lift things up to my loft? Or do I need the i beam with a span of 40 feet. Seems expensive.

The gantry will let you lift and carry but you can't side-load it as in set stuff on a mezzanine, unless the mezz has a cantilevered deck.

An overhead monorail might be more useful to get things to your mezz.

Or, try for an old LPG forklift needing some repairs. Make the repairs and you can then do it all.

Matt-I have you seen any gantrys 15 feet high? I could actually build a piece on the deck to allow things to be set on it. Hadn’t thought of that. Thanks

Welcome to the forum from Southwestern California.

IMHO, the major limiting factors of gantry cranes are the imagination and money of the purchaser.
