but, what is it meant to pull? I have had it in my tool box for 20 years...and have not used it yet! Thanks.

that looks like a universal type to me, I have one similar that I use to yank whatever it fits on.

yup. A very useful tool to have around. You may not have used it yet but when you need it you will be very glad to have it in your box:thumbup:

Universal puller. Used to pull pulleys, gears, bearings, etc. Basically whatever you can get it to fit onto. Handy and simple, adjustable for diameter and reach. Not for extreme duty use, however.

Yup, universal and very handy when you need one.

I've use one on:
  • MGB Wire Wheel seized to it's hub
  • Crankshaft Pulleys
  • Wheel hubs
  • Inner wheel bearings stuck on a spindle
  • Bench grinder bearings
