Thanks all for the great comments. Finally got the lift dialed in today. It lifts nice and level now. I am very impressed with the build and quality of this unit. My only disappointment was the instructions, the translation has much to be desired and leaves to some frustrations until you figure it out yourself. The unit is all built in "fail safe" mode so if you loose air or power, all the locks stay engaged.

These locks are double on each side of each lift and more than adequate to do the job.

Just wanted to say THANKS! for sharing your build! It is looking great. The tile floor, flush lift, the hoist and more... all look well thought out. I look forward to see what you do next. Oh, and the 911 is also sweet.

That is a very neat installation of the lift. I had that in mind in my garage, but as my floor already was poured (previos owner), so it was a to big job :(

A garage very fitting of a Porsche.

How do you like the bamboo? I see Lowes has stacks of it for cheap. Almost as cheap as plywood. How does it withstand the rigors of a garage? How did the linseed oil take to it? My concern about treating bamboo is its hardness. Apparently it is hard to stain.

It's like cutting cement, couldn't believe how dense this stuff is. It took linseed oil fairly well, let it sit 24hrs and wiped the excess. The point is as you've said, fairly cheap. So use and abuse then replace. It's harder than maple for sure and looks great.

Yesterday I was going to buy a dirt bike with the money I dont have and a friend post a link to this lift and now I cannot stop obsessing about getting one.
Lucky my garage has 12’ ceilings. I had planned to get a lift but a 2 post just doesn’t make since when I could get one that would be out of the way like this.
Height is perfect as I am 5’8 and Mazdaspeed6 is 58” tall so fully raised it will be under 11’.
Your garage looks great and I will also be copying that welding table.

Very nice space.

I'd love to add something very similar to my own shop.

I was confused by the buttons and lights on the blue box and was going to ask, "Do you know Captain Pike?"

But then I eventually figured out it's the control panel for the lift tables. Hydraulic pumps are inside there, too?

Why two lift tables? Safety? Access to the center tunnel?

LOL perfect thank you. :beer::beer::lol_hitti

great looking garage!
where did you move the tree to?

You can see it in the sixth picture to the right of the framed garage. It will now provide shade when I work outside of the garage side door. The idea behind that door is to open it up in summer and be able to work outside in the yard, otherwise like most set-ups you end up working in your driveway.

I don't know how I missed this thread. That is a fantastic looking garage, and I like the table/welding cart. If you would put a banding of wood around the edge of the wood top on the cart, you could flip it over and use it without things rolling off, then put it on when done so it covers the edge of the steel. Or hinge it to your bench and just slide the welding cart out from under it and lower it down. Anyways.......I LIKE IT!!!!

With your lift all of the way up, what is the total height from the floor to the pads?

There is a banding, once the wood top is on the wood edge covers the steel also stops the top from being able to slide off. If I remember the top is 1" thick plus a 1/2" band. It ends up the same thickness as the work bench.
