I built myself a new table / mobile work bench. I really built it to finish my gokart on but I need to finish my Baby Bobber project first. The table is 4’ by 8’, a standard plywood size. I used a 19/32” thick piece of plywood, I was going to use a 3/4" thick birch board but it was 4 times more expensive than the plywood. The frame is made of 2x4’s of course. With the angled pieces I used and the intertwined stacking of the 2x4’s it makes it very sturdy and it doesn’t wiggle at all. You just have to careful while building it to make sure you can get to all the boards that need to be nailed. I built a couple of the sections and then put them together like a puzzle. I put 4 castors on it so it’s mobile. It’s a tall table, maybe too tall for some but so far I like it. I’ll put a piece of plywood in the bottom of it so I can store stuff under the table later. If you have all the right tools you can make it in less than a day for sure and for around $100. I got the wood at Lowes and the casters at Harbor Freight.

Nice bench, I built mine out of 2x10's with 4x4 legs & although it is sturdy, it isn't portable especially since I didn't put castors on it. I'd like to make something like that as an outfeed table for my tablesaw which could double as an assembly table.

Excellent job on the table. Looks great!

The engine in that bike looks almost identical to the one in my Yamaha YDS3...

Let me know if you're looking to be rid of any of the original bike parts. The restoration of my '67 YDS3 is coming along slowly...

Not to hijack your thread, but here's mine-

That's a cool bike. I thought it was an HD Rapido, too, when I saw it. I had one that I bought as a pile of parts for $10 in 1978. I got it running, and sold it for $50 in about '86. I wish that I still had it. Oh, well.

Jalopyshots,
Running a piston port two-stroke without backpressure(pipes or chambers) destroys the scavenge effect that is an inherent design of two strokes. Open pipes is a 4 stroke thing. How does it run?
