I was searching for some old posts in Free Parking, and couldn't find them. Was there a wholesale-deletion of posts? The ones I was looking for are from a year or two ago.

I don't remember them being controversial at all, so I don't think that's why they're not there...

I just tried a couple different searches. Free Parking posts don't seem to appear in the searches anymore. What gives?

I pointed this out the day after free parking was reinstated. I believe that the index was lost, and that any posts prior to it being reinstated, will forever be lost. The only thing that you can do is to search page by page until you find what you are looking for. That is what I did to find my Carpal Tunnel thread..

Thanks, I found it after going through so many pages.

Another thing to do is go to Google's advanced search page - http://www.google.com/advanced_search?hl=en

Put www.garagejournal.com/forum in "Search within a site or domain:"

I've found things in Free Parking that way.

Now you tell me an easier way.

I am going to book mark topics on my computer in future.

If you look towards the top of the Free Parking posts, it says Thread/Thread Starter. Click on Thread Starter, and you can sort by the name of the thread author. That makes it a bit easier to find, since you know all of your threads you started will be together.

I'm adding to this because I can't find my posts in Free Parking even when I click on my user name and check "Find all posts by BlackLead". Apparently, NO posts from Free Parking are showing up under ANY search, regardless of age of post. So, what gives? Can it be fixed? It's really annoying because, I admit it, I post in the Free Parking section more often than not, and sometimes (okay, often) forget what the thread title I posted under was.

Well I found my lost post having used the information above so surely you can as well:).
