I was just perusing CL and I saw and 8 drawer SO rollaway with a 5 drawer Mac side cabinet stuffed with SO, Mac, and Craftsman stuff posted about 45 min ago. For $200. I was the 2nd caller of course. Gee, do you think the 1st guy will take it? I could throw up.

No, it was the real deal. I must have missed it by minutes too. I called the number in the ad and the guys wife answered. I told her what I was calling about and her response was "you just called". *sigh* I should have said yes I did, what was your address again? Ah well. CL is full of flake buyers so I'm holding on to meager hope.

Well, I'm still kind of alive on this deal. The first guy bought only the Mac side cabinet. Unbelievable. But... the seller's son is interested. He'll call me back tomorrow if his son flakes out. I can't imagine this setup surviving two people. I'm shocked that the first buyer didn't ****** it all up and flip it if nothing else.

I've had a few of those CL adds and when you get there they tell you a guy is on the way that claims that he will pay more. Don't be afraid to walk away. I'm sure if the sellers son was really interested he would have bought it before it ever hit CL. Go see the guy and take cash.

I had a guy that was selling a older Snap-On set. (KR637/657 combo) and he had it listed for 500 dollars. I went to look at them and when I got there I looked the boxes over and they looked good so I decided to take them. He then informed me he had a guy coming from Pawleys Island (about 50 miles away the told him he'd give him 750 dollars sight unseen but if I wanted them I could get them for the same 750. It ticked me off so bad I told him to stick it (had cash in hand) so I just headed back for my truck. He told me "OK I'll take the 500 because thats how I had them advertized" I told him no thanks and he needed better business ethics. I ended up with them for 400. I wasn't so mad I was going to let them slip away at that price. They looked really good but had to buy a lock for the bottom box.
