Ok...so was driving down road in my neigborhood when I saw a garage sale sign...with a larger sign that said TOOLS
Well...you know I stopped. It was a century home that looked like a 'clean out' was being done....
I see the attached pics. I appreciate it for what is..was told by the seller it worked.
Tried to show restraint and did.....I left.
I knew it was wrong to leave it there...lol. I had one sleepless, sweaty night and decided if it was there one day later, and if he'd accept my offer, it was coming home.
It was there and he did.....70.00

Plate is hard to read but looks to be an AJAX 2782 It works like a champ.
Any idea n what year range these were made...or where to find a date code??

What's the plan? Are you going to restore it or just put it to use? I like the long reach for getting under the pumpkin of my pickup. It's missing the front cover and rough looking, but if it works, it works.

When they work...I just put em to use
When they dont, I restore em
Are you implying this is missing a front nose piece?

Since the nosebpiece is mentioned... does anyone know definitively if a Walker 884 roll a car had a nose piece?
I have one of those jacks...it has no nose piece and I don’t see any way of attaching one
Anyone know?

Congratulations! Looks like a great jack!
... Just do not look into old jack threads - you will be really tempted to restore it : )

The nose piece is essential to having an aerodynamic jack! I tell ya, first ya get an aerodynamic jack, then an aerodynamic vise, then who knows what's next!;)

Nice... I have 2 of the Walker 782. Acquired the 2nd about a month ago. I restored the first one and just cleaned up and got #2 to stop leaking and working. Both have the cast iron Walker covers and the knob at the top of handle are different. Basically round with the W on them.

Scored all 4 of these for $75

I purchased this old carriage Jack, not much information I could find on the web as to who the manufacturer would have been?
