I don't do many write-ups so..I got the snowblower for free from my cousin. MTD 5hp 22" path. I did this on the cheap and on the fly as my son was napping (don't worry I have a baby monitor in the garage with me).
I tossed the ol Toro s-200 out on a snowbank for the scrappers once I got the new one up and running. Then I came across the snowblower mod thread. I ran out to the curb and snatched the old one back so I could use the flapper paddles for my mod. They are corded rubber.
I kind of hacked it together real quick. I will keep an eye on those self tapping screws that are holding the rubber to the impeller, although I don't see this thing producing a lot of rpm. They came off the toro paddles.
Don't mind the mess in the garage I was drinkin out there last night and have yet to clean it up. I got lucky and had ample room to work through the chute once I took it off.
I can't try it yet as I was cleaning the carb again I accidentally blew some little piece to who knows where, it was for the float needle to seat in the carb body. New carb ordered.
Pics.
The first couple pics are of the gap between the impeller blades and the body. This gap causes the snow to build up and clog the chute. Probably 1/2" or so gap. This should be able to clear a puddle of slush now. Will update.
