My dad, who owned few tools and used them even less, bought an SK spark-plug service set in the late 70s I think it was. Over the years, my two brothers and I laid claim to the old man's tools, since he didn't use them and we needed them to maintain our cars in high school and college. We did not have a lot of money, so what I didn't scavenge from dad was picked up cheap at flea markets. Remember Buffalo? I had a lot of their junk. Over the years, cheap junk was tossed, but I held onto quality tools.

This SK bent flex-head ratchet made it though all the years and is still in my tool box. To this day, this SK ratchet is one of the first tools I reach for when changing plugs on my 70 Roadrunner.

I have a very similar Mac ratchet that has been my favorite for many years. It's amazing how versatile the flex head and bent shaft make the tool.

I've had that exact ratchet since about forever.I think I probably use it twice as much as any other in my box. I've got two other flex ratchets that have straight handles that gather dust. SK hit a home run with that one.

For several years in college, it was my ONLY ratchet. The flex head pin is a little loose, I should proabably peen it to keep from losing it. Good little tool.

I love mine specially when I use it as a speed wrench ( freaks out newbies ) my friend thought it was the dumbest thing ever made till he used mine now he has several . as for your pin you can get some drill rod and make an oversized one .

Years ago after watching a mechanic use a flex handle ratchet as his only ratchet all day long I decided to give it a try. So I bought this ergonomic flex head at sears:

I never got used to it, whenever I tried to apply any kind of torque the handle would suddenly change its position. Its also heavier compared to my other ratchets. Now the angled handle does seem useful for saving busted knuckles...maybe I'll bend my Snap-On ratchet and see how I like it.

I have the Snap-On version of the bent handle flex head, I bought it new yrs ago. I like the ratchet, and when I need it, no other ratchet will due, however I would not say it is the first ratchet I reach for. Still an excellent ratchet though.

I have the Craftsman version. I definitely has come in handy many times. Not often, but sometimes the Germans like to put fasteners around blind corners. If the SK has better action I might buy the SK as well. Sometimes the Craftsman can be hard to work in tight areas if you don't have the room to swing back.
