This toolbox originally belonged to my grandfather and most recently to my father who passed away this past winter. Both of them took impeccable care of their things so this box and the tools in it...

Call the guy a ***** for thinking his family's vintage Snap On tool chest (with side box) might be worth $500.

Why not pick on the Ebay dreamer in the ad that is looking for $2400 for a similar vintage taco cart. Maybe HIS father didn't recently pass away...

For all you know the ad might have been posted by the dead guy's daughter. Maybe Skippy is really Sally and she had nothing to go by other than the ebay Snap On fan boy listings.

Ya I guess I was out of line for saying that. But some people just have no clue. I educated my daughter how much my mostly SO tools should be worth used, about 1/3 to 1/2 of new, and how to research what would be a fair price. She knows that my SO 1/4-7/8 wrench set is worth more than $100.

$700 is obviously high, but I've seen much, much worse. I do have to laugh about the insertion of the ad for the insanely priced taco cart as a comp!

It looks like a pretty beat homeowner / shadetree box... and yeah, I get the feeling that "Cousin Clem" came over and got to choose the tools they wanted before they put it up on eBay... and theyll eventually realize (if they haven't already) the edge to get that box to 5 bills is gone.

They COULD clean it up and maybe get that much out of it... or maybe gift it to one of the grandkids who shows some mechanical promise (there's always one or 2 in the family), keep it as a memento of grandpa, and use it as a toolbox.
