Some stuff is junk.. if someone stole all my tools(mostly snap on matco and some crapsman) i would buy all my sockets (chrome & impact) ,ratchets and dead blow hammers there.

Seems like there wrenches, plyers, screwdrivers and most things with a cord or battery are not so good.

I like the composite ratchets almost as much as dual 80 snap ons. And if i had to do it over for the price diff. I would just buy the hf

Had some time to kill today and stopped by HF.Ended up buying the 3/8 and 1/2 impact swivel adapters. I hope I didn't waste $8.99. I just don't feel right about it. They were made in Taiwan so hopefully they are pretty good.

These are great, I use mine almost every day and they haven't gotten destroyed yet.

yes, i hate to say.
bought the biggest one they carry. 4#'er. and beat the bejeeezus out of it. hasn't split yet

+1 on the dead blows. I have used the **** out of mine and they are still going strong. Plus....they are orange.

Also a thumbs up for me anyway is my 44" tool box, 5 drawer cart, red mechanics gloves, nitrile gloves, 4 1/2" HD angle grinders, sheet metal shears, electrical tape, zip ties, dirt bike stands (I use 2 of them to support the dragster in the shop), the pro vise grips aren't bad, 3" pneumatic polisher, 6" electric polisher and the list goes on. You just have to pick and choose what is good enough for you and pass on the rest.

**** man I buy the **** out of their impact stuff, Haven't had anything explode yet and I abuse the **** out of them. I've been putting a HF 3/8 swivel adapter on a 1/2 drive 3/8 ended extension and wailing on it with my IR 2135 and it hasn't blown up yet, how ever I do always make sure I've got safety glasses on for when it inevitably does :lol_hitti

Gotta say I've gone about 90 on HF. I started off with absolutely don't but anything from them. Now I don't buy anything from them without researching it (mostly from here) since I bought the **** mig pliers from them. I also won't buy something without a coupon, be it a specific coupon or a 25% offer. I'm pretty happy so far with what I've picked up other than the pliers I referenced above

Oh yeah.:willy_nil:lol:

With HF, the less moving parts the better so...hammers are going to be pretty good.

If you're trying to build a "collection" (as in you need a lot of varied tools that you might not need all the time) hf is the way to go in case you need to do jobs different ways. Your daily use stuff might require better stuff or at least the pittsburgh pro (taiwan) stuff but even if you're using a "better brand" in say a drilling hammer you're going to have to replace the handle pretty quickly because the head is going to come loose. Ideally you'd want one piece for hammers you use that much (estwing, harbor freight has one piece claw/rip hammers not sure about drilling).
