I just had to gloat! I never buy new tools. I've been collecting tools for half a century so I pretty much have everything I need. However, I can't count the times I've been wrenching on my rides, dealing with a fastener with absolutely no room to work and I say to myself 'now is when I need a ratcheting wrench'. Well, I finally bit the bullet. $72 shipped to my door on this double boxed metric set! 8mm-19mm. Perfect for what I do! Came with a free set of mechanics gloves too! I'm happy!

Hummm... You know, we live in the same town. I would sure like to see what a 50 year tool collection looks like!

I'm near HWY 12 and Calistoga.

evintho I see you've been a member since 2006. During that time, I don't know how many 50% sales Sears has had. I've seen that set often for $30-35 at Sears. I'm just wondering why you didn't take advantage of one of those sales. Sorry I sound like a ****. I think I've seen you on here more frequently, so I'm just surprised that you missed a big discount

Those 50% Sears discounts are few and very far between...plus, they don't throw in mechanics gloves for free. :pimpflash

Yeah, maybe I did miss a big discount..............wow, that is a pretty big discount! Oh well, spilt milk! I wanted them, checked PriceGrabber for the best price and went for it. 2 months ago I would never have spent $72 on a set of wrenches. Today, it's a different story. You see, in August 2007 I was terminated (unjustly) from my job of 22 years with the government. After an almost 2 year fight through my union and the arbitration process, I won and was reinstated to my original position, along with back pay! So, buying the Gearwrenches was a celebration of sorts!

I guess I'll have to keep an eye open for those Sears sales!:shocking:
