I been looking for a really clean Snappy KR-562.
My buddy is a Snappy Dealer, & had been looking for a couple years for one for me. He dropped this one off, & although it needs a lot of TLC its not in to bad of shape.

I finally got all those crappy stickers off & cleaned up the paint. Now I got to replace all the drawer sliders, wheels & install the drawer liners & top cover. All the parts were warrenty replacements and exactly like the original, except the top cover which is supposed to be masonite, but they only offer the rubber mat now. I need to do a littel more work on the damaged door, but that will come later.

I had a 562 yesrs ago & don't now why I wanted another one, except I think they are pretty damn bitchen! How does it look now? What day you guys?

I like the stickers and would have left them and added more, but your box so It is what you want. Nice box, they are cool bot space does not permit one for me.

I've seen two lately and they were both beat to hell... Warranty repair parts or not, one box was warped enough a dictionary would fit under the lifted wheel...

Looks good, but I feel like it would be a hassle to use.

They're ideal for aircraft mechanics because their boxes are always out in the middle of a hanger and they have access to all 4 sides. The double door compartment is ideal for spray cans and other chemical containers.

Ok now that makes sense. I didn't see the double doors at first. I thought it was just the two sections of drawers. I was thinking the back was flat and you would put it right up against the wall, in which case you'd have to store it all the way to the left of everything else in your garage to get the drawers to open. Ok I like it a lot more now.

On another note, you guys see some of the stickers on that box? Probably best he did remove them. ***********, a confederate flag, dale jr #8... Was the previous owners name Billy Bob or Cletus?

I'd love to have one. I know exactly where I'd put it too. It would make a perfect project center. You could work on the top with tools, chemicals, what ever else you wanted to store right at an arms length.

It looks like a really good starting point, other than stickers, all things considered. Don't message me to try and sell it.

Thats kinda why I took em' off, plus they were mostly faded. The back side also had a long pry bar compartment. I agree with most of you guys, not the best box to work out of at the job, but cool at the home shop!

I have on of these myself, didn't realize what it was until I joined this forum. Can you post or pm me the part numbers and how you go about ordering the parts? New to Snapon.

I've had like 3 chances to buy decent tacos for $500 and passed because of the awkward layout...maybe one day.

I always thought they'd make a good "end unit" box, not realizing they has the spray goods cabinet in the back... they'd work really well for a spot next to a door, maybe in a center island. (As a kid, I worked in a pro kitchen that used something like this as a workstation with a cutting board on top)...

The promo stickers - to me, not a big deal (tho some would obviously have to come off, especially as a work box)... we used to do that all the time years ago. It used to be the dif between a "working" box and a "showcase" box. (you could always tell the new guys by their lack of stickers)

I gotta know... used, needing restoration, what did he sting you for it?

I have one that I got new in about 1982. They're intended for jobs where the toolbox has to be brought to the job. They were popular with aircraft mechanics. They have a towbar hitch on one end so they can be towed behind an aircraft tug or hi-lo.

Your toolbox cleaned up nice looks great. I love the taco wagons. They are built heavy duty. I have a snap on taco wagon model kra-398 that I have worked out of for years.

My dad has one of these that he bought new when he was a auto mechanic back in the late 70's to early 80's. The way it is in the garage now you can not even open the end drawers or the back, and has been that was since 1999. I now wonder what kind of goodies are hiding in there.

His slides are in need of replacing for sure, but otherwise the box is in great shape.

I just got one myself about 2 months ago. I drove to Ohio from Hamilton, ontario to grab it. I am just waiting to repaint it as it is prepped finally.....

Should work perfect at my job. I have to say the new casters are fully plastic and I wonder about their lifespan.

I've recently bought a KRA-398. Any pictures off the lock mechanism on the doors.

Thanks

Robert
