I Finally Understand about Pro Grade Tool Boxes

why would youdrive a box at 70? LOL sorry I had to.
I have seen a pic where a 7022 got hit by a mortar round in iraq a few years ago and saved the whole tent that it was in.

Could you track that picture down and post it?
It would be a great sales tool.
Was it a maintenance tent that it was in? That would be pretty bad if they could get close enough to mortar our maintenance people.

I have to build a garage before I can even consider any tool box larger than I can carry in the trunk of my car. And as far as SO box prices, yes, they are expensive, but you also have to figure into the equation how long you intend to own it. A $5000 tool chest looks expensive on the bill, but in reality it's dang cheap after 20 years of reliable service.

i always thought of my SO boxes as an investment, i think they paid for themselves over the 25 years i've had them. i knew going in it wss a lot of money to lay out, but figured they wouldnt have to be replaced, only upgraded in the future if needed.
every smaller SO box ive ever traded in, i got back my original purchase price back from SO. i cant complain
if i wasnt a professional i probably never would have put out that much money on a tool box, and would have never bought the amount of tools that i did.

I went back to that pawn on Saturday, and I was glad to see that the original model/serial number tag was still on the back. Also, the camo pattern was definitely on the sides of the box as well as the fronts of the drawers.

You get what you pay for! Sheetmetal and slides are not the only thing that comprise a SO box. Cman boxes are made of sheetmetal and slides and boy is there a difference between the two. As far as Mercedes goes, get up close to a G500, open and close the doors, check out the 1mm thick sheetmetal and you'll see why you are paying so much for it.

I started with a Craftsman box, which did its purpose but thats about it. The top full length drawer had to be shut evenly by pushing in the center only, if you pushed on just one corner of the drawer it would bind up. You don't find that problem with a Lista, Snap-on, Matco, ect. When time is literally money in the flat rate world stupid **** like that slows you down. A good box is definatly an investment.

G500, LOL. Mercedes never should have put that thing out to the general public, yes built like a tank, but their owners want them to drive like thier S class does. I guess they don't realize that its a military vehicle mean't to take abuse.
