I had a few customers go to Kansas a few years ago and they came back with this. they found a room in an old military hanger that had these stacked to the ceiling. just this year. they were throwing these away and managed to snag one copy out of the trash. it is falling apart, but the pics and text are in excellent condition....

the last time I wore a tie was at my first wedding.
Luckily nothing has happened that has required a tie again.
No jury duty federal jury duty came up, but luckily my little boy was born the week I was to appear. saved my **** big time. it was for a 6 week run every day. I would have gone out of business if that would have happened

They actually came out around 1934-35 in the Snap on catalogs. They are not in the 1933, but are in the 1935. Id have to pull out my 1934 to see if they are in there.

I prefer using 1950's tools to looking at 1950's catalogs :)

Some of my 1955-56 tools that still sees frequent use, fifty years after being made!

I was thinking the same thing. I was surprised to see them in the 1939 catalog that I have and which is now up on collectingsnapon.com

I don't remember ever seeing ratcheting wrenches when I was a kid. I'm sure they were out there, and I wasn't really hanging out at shops back then, but I just assumed they were a newer tool.

edit: I see that Chad notes they were in at least the '35 catalog. I wonder who first made that type of wrench. A search of the patent site might reveal that.
