.. only went there to buy some clamps for attaching electrical conduit to the garage walls & couldn't get out the door without buying a PorterCable set of brad/finish nailers & a stapler in a cool bag...:bounce:
They came with the wrong airline fittings but thats an easy swap...

Was it on super duper black friday special? I have a nice PC finish nailer but would like to get a brad nailer/stapler for attaching panels, etc.

Yeah...the garden department which is either full of clearance items in the off-season or Christmas deals waiting to **** you in...

These stores are just evil. I love them.

I went in there (Lowes) for something can't remember what now! Came out with this real cool (I think) B&D cordless battery op 18 volt 18 gage brad nailer. My old Devilbis air unit had some broken plastic parts in it & only does 5/8" to 1 5/8" brads. The new B&D does up to 2" with flush & counter sink settings. Kind of pricy at $199.00 but as I looked through the shelf I found a box with an earlier promotion that included the brad nailer & an 18 volt drill with the removable chuck with a driver attachment underneath the chuck and a nice canvas tool bag. I was expecting to need some 18 volt B&D batteries in the near future for my B&D cordless Hammer drill and two were included plus the variable voltage battery charger. Using a nailer without the air hose or power cord is so nice when standing on a scaffold & putting up 5 1/4" crown molding on a 12' wall. They also sell a 12 volt model a little cheaper, but I wanted the extra power & the 18 volt battery compatability.
About a week later, I go in there again & they have a portable table saw marked down to $139. from I don't remember what. I wanted to retire my old Craftsman table saw (It was my Grandfathers, he got it in the 1930s or 40s) heavy, bulky, & hard to adjust quickly. I didn't have enough time so I went back the next day, couldn't find the, on sale, portable table saw anywhere. I asked an associate. "Oh yeah! there discontinued. I've got one left". The box now said $125. I said "I'll take it". He ran off the price sticker to put on the box & it said $99.00. Keep me out of Lowes!!!

The farther you go in to that store the more it will cost ya! I speak from experience. That also goes for Home Depot, Sears, Menards and any other cool tool store in America.

I just to Lowes because my wife wanted to look at knobs for the kitchen cabinets. She got to see cabinet knobs. I got to browse the tool department. During my run through the department I noticed that air compressor combo kits are 20% off through the 28th of this month. I want to get a small pancake compressor since I have a few projects to do in the house but wouldn't you know it, the one I want isn't on sale.

What is the twist lock for? I just went to the electrical supply house today to pick up one handy box, and walked out with a box full of other stuff that I felt would be handy to have on hand. Strange thing is how prices have changed. The last on in my stash box of old parts had a sticker on it.... 60 cents... today, they were $1.12 !!!!! Should have bought more 20 years ago.. :headscrat Did I mention that I love twist lock plugs and receptacles? No one borrows your tools that have them on the cord ends.

My wife is worse than I am at Lowes. The store is close to home. Went in for air filters, came out with a new fridge!! I really need to quit taking the truck.

I love Lowe's....went in after Christmas to get a drill press, band saw, benchtop belt/disc sander and a mitre saw. They didn't have all of them at the first one I went to, so down the road I go to the next one (there are 6 in my area, all within a 30 mile radius, and I live in NW Arkansas). Found all of them at the second store, but the mitre saw was $98.99, it was $87.99 at the first store. The guy called the first store and verified that it was mislabled, they forgot to take down the sale price and the sale was over. But he went ahead and sold it to me for $87. That's not the first time that happened to me either.

WOOHOO, New beer fridge for the shop.

I worked for Menards for 10years in the plumbing dept. I can remember a couple coming in the buy a new faucet for their master bath. They walked out with a new vanity, vanity top, toilet, tub/shower unit, new faucet for the tub/shower, etc,etc....... When they were done shopping the guy told me "Next time I'm leaving the wife at home":bounce:
