Nothing too exciting here...

Recently picked up a Summit G1020 (AFF 202T) low profile floor jack. Pulled it out of the box and was happy with the fit and finish. Installed the handle, bled it real quick, and tested it out. So far so good....except for that stupid 2 piece handle. I also prefer a shorter handle myself. I was going to fab a new one, but it seemed a waste to just toss the old handle. I decided to just shorten the factory one.

Step 1 was to decide on a length, I chose 36".

Step 2 was to choose where to section it. I wanted to keep the knurl on the end, and I didn't want the seam to be visible. I chose to keep 18" from each end since the bumper was about 22" in length.

Step 3 cut, chamfer, remove paint, weld, grind, and sand.

Step 4 paint, let dry, install bumper, reinstall handle, and enjoy.

I welded a 'T' to the handle to make it easier to turn with greasy hands and to pull on to move things:thumbup:
