Return it, for that price you should have got a new one with all the accessories. They are a good company but idiots abound in this country. Just simply tell them its being returned and keep all records and make sure you get your money back right away.

anywhere did they say it w/b recon'd? disclaimer before purchase? if not, then I say return it or keep btchn to them... the whole "price is good enough for recon" is a b/s excuse for what is essentially a bait and switch.

Send it back for a refund and take your business elsewhere. That is what I would do.

First link from Google with the P/N typed in as search... $349

http://www.cpopowertools.com/dewalt...ult,pd.html?start=3&cgid=dewalt-cut-off-tools

Next link in line... $329!!!!

http://www.factoryauthorizedoutlet.com/DeWALT/Products/DCG411KL.asp?gclid=CMrp-IPSqKQCFQUDbAodTQlU6Q

Unless you want to spend more money than you have to I would go with a different company.

Here is the Google Search with the P/N...

That is a crazy price for recondition, even pretty high for brand new. About 3 years ago I bought the whole kit, hammer drill, impact driver, sawzall, circular saw, grinder, flashlight, two batteries, and charger for 500 bucks on sale from HD.

I would send that back.

I did a quick google search for dewalt dc411 and the first thing came up was the recon tool itself for 89 bucks.

I had to warranty a GearWrench ratchet.. GW said take it to the local Fastenal & they would take care of it. It took over THREE ******* MONTHS before I got the call to say my new ratchet was in.
Haven't bought any GW tools since.

Looks like we agree:

Piss on a bunch of Gearwrench:monkey_pi

In Elroy's opinion you can add Fastenal to the piss list :monkey_pi

Some people like Fastenal. I don't and neither does Elroy

It's a rare day when Fastenal wins Elroy's business. It has happened, but not very often

Call them back again and tell them that you are unhappy with your purchess and you dont think that you got what you paid for. if they wont make it right then ask for a refund. if they wont do that then I have to ask did you pay by card?

A side story for you because im long winded. I bought a radio back when I was still into rc cars. It arrived doa. No problem i thought ill just let them know because it just arrived. the man said that there is no way of knowing if I dropped it or anything like that or if I damaged it and that I wold have to send it horizon hobbies (the mfr) I was informed that it would be 40 dollars just for them to look at it and that I should expect 4-8 week return time,

No way I thought This thing is brand new im not paying more money to get my stuff fixed. So I called the origional place of purchess again and told him that If he would not refund my money and take his radio back that I would take the radio to my bank and disbute the charge with the radio as evidence.

He straightend out really fast. But he was really professional about it. (note there was no cursing or profanity use on either end mine or his) he told me to ship the radio back and he would send me out a new one as soon as he received the old radio back. About 3 days later a new radio arrived this time it worked.

So Personaly If you ask me, Its on fastenall to make it right for you, It might not be there fault, could just be a mistake but I still think that they should make it right, just be civil about it and im sure all will be fine

GOOD LUCK

i am not a fan of fastenal.

i walked into the location by me and asked for 2 armstrong adjustables, 10'' and 12''

they have no armstrong stock, so he said he has to order them, ok, no problem, so a week comes and i wait for the cal to say that they are in, no call, so the next day, no call, so i drive to the fastenal, he hands me the bill and runs my card , and hands me the wrenches and im on my way.

well little did i know, he charged me shipping of about 10 bucks.

ummm, if i wanted to pay shipping, i would have ordered on amazon and had them delivered right to my door. i dont go into a store to buy something, return for a second trip and expect to pay shipping charges. its not my fault you dont stock what you sell, it isnt like i special ordered an item that is rare.

so i paid tax and shipping, joy!!!! first and last time i went to fastenal. not going going back as i get a better deal through grainger, msc and motion industries(15-30 percent off, no tax, free next day shipping-all 3 places)

I called Gearwrench to warranty a combo ratcheting wrench; they told me to go to fastenall... I called our local dealer. They said they would not warranty any gearwrench tools unless I had purchased them there and had a receipt. I ended up going to Napa; hassles there also, had to pay for the wrench and they ordered it and refunded my money when it showed up. Seems that Gearwrench is definitely about passing the buck and not dealing with customer service issues...

The size of the wrench was too large for Sears to keep it in the open stock area (I think it was over 19MM); I don't know if they will warranty them through the mail in the tool catalog, however...

As far as "reconditioned" goes,I worked in a hardware store and had guys buy a Dewalt ???? in the morning and bring it back that afternoon or the next day and return it.It did not take long to figure out that they used it for the job they needed it for and then returned it.We(retailer)boxed it up and sent it back to Dewalt. My guess is they clean it up rebox and sell it as recon'd.

I think the level of service you get is luck of the draw....good day/bad day, someone hasn't gotten layed lately or the guy just before you made the salepersons life living hell of nothing.

I have bought few power tools reconditioned that looked brand new. The manufacturer goes over them and makes any repairs and sells them reconditioned. But when I buy a reconditioned tool it is advertised as just that and priced accordingly. I would be really pissed if I bought a tool that I thought was brand new(never said recon) and got a reconditioned one, and paid on the high side for a brand new one and get a reconditioned tool. Reconditioned tools come with limited warranties, sometimes only a month.

Here is one from amazon brand new for 240 with free shipping, http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001B6AF5M/?tag=atomicindus08-20. Comes with charger and TWO batteries and bag.

i'd be pretty pissed myself, even refurbished tools come with a charger, thats a no brainer. Sounds like you talked to a superviser wearing his *** as a hat. Unless they're a shady business nobody stocks manufacturer refurbished tools missing pieces unless its a bare tool. Nevermind the fact that it wasnt marked refurbished and listed for new price [refurbs are generally 2/3 to 1/2 less than MSRP].

plus as pointed out it can be found cheaper elsewhere new

Northern Tool $330

I'd return it for a full return including shipping and never purchase again. If they pull any **** tell them you'll be informing the BBB [whether you do is up to you] and making a stink on your interweb forums, then take up the billing with your CC company. They will protect you in situations like these where an obvious bait and switch has been performed and shouldnt give you much resistance for a full chargeback.

I've never had any problems with the local Fastenel. So far I've had to take back a Pelican flashlight that the batteries leaked in and thy replaced the body of the light and batts to make it work. Also another time I was there talking tools with a guy working there and he offered me a 10% discount on a Bosch grinder I was interested in.

An alternate reality in a parallel universe.
I just received an MSC flyer today and they have that grinder/cut off, one battery and charger, and case for $219, plus a rebate for another free tool. One of my techs ordered the Dewalt 18 volt sawzall(I know that's a Milwaukee name), one battery, charger and case and will get a free Dewalt 1/2" impact bare tool direct from DeWalt.

So I say give Fastenal that tool back in the form of a suppository for sending you a refurb for the price of a new tool that comes with a few gold coins in the case(or at least should of for that price).

Just like any retail store, they are only as good as the people working there, that being said we have an excellent local Fastenal.

Update Fastenal can officially kiss the fattest part of my ***. i called the 800 line again to get satisfaction. I was basically told to pound sand. So i got a ride (between cars right now) to the fastenl store on airport rd. in lakewood. after watching 3 employees do nothing for 5 minutes 1 finally asked can they help me. i showed them the tolls the packaging the onlie receipt everything. H got a guy who got comeone on the phone. who offered me store credit, i declined. He tells me that's the best he can do i ask for a supervisor. Ispoke to an arrogant s.o.b named jeff who offered me the sotre credit again again i declined i told him i would just dispute the charge with my bank he then had me give the phone to the counter guy who could still care less i was there. 5 minutes later i left teh store tool less and with a credit on my card.

Icalled the fastenal serivce line to complain and took the survey wonder how little they care. excuse me i gotta buy a cordless grinder.

Jaeger Lumber in Lakewood, Belmar or Point Pleasant should have a cordless grinder kit for you, tell 'em Dan Richards sent you and they'll take care of you.

I'm confused. So you got store credit or they refunded you your money via CC?

Buy Makita .

I used to always run Dewalt for the majority of my tools, I fried my dewalt 18v drill and bought a Makita 18v. The Makita is my new favorite cordless and I have been using it for about 2 years. I keep rebuilding my 12" Dewalt sliding compound saw because the new ones are **** for visability.

To the OPer, glad to see you got your money back, look at getting in with a local supplier. I get stuff at a better price than I can find online anywhere on a quite a few lines of tools that Whitecap or Campbell supply carries.

I have to agree . . . Fastenal as a company ***** major donkey ballzzzzzzzzzzzz! I had to deal with these **** knockers just once, for a Armstrong warranty issue . . . Pretty much said they don't warranty anything if you have never done any business with them in the past.

I asked to speak to the so called manager at the time which was some little piss ant, pimpled aszz hole who re-stated the same message the other waste of skin, oxygen wasting ***** who said the same thing two minutes ago . . .

So, knowing I wasn't going to get any kind of satisfaction, or customer service from these MOFO, I asked for the phone which they reluctantly gave to me and told my friend of my poor treatment, he asked to speak to the piss ant.

In about 60 seconds he's typing away like a mad man into the computer and his face changes 3 shades of white!

My friend just told him that his company which does 1.2 million dollars of sales with this PunK, is now going to do business with Grainger instead because of the ****** aszz treatment I was recieiving.

Note: I did not feel compelled to use my friends name to get any kind of service because in my eyes you should be treated fairly, regardless of the amount of business you have in the past.

So, I didn't get any warranty from these pricks, but then again they just lost a 1.2 million dollar contract because this is the way these guys at Fastenal want to treat their every day customers!

FAWK you FASTENAL . . .

Fastenal kid at the store I stopped in last week was plenty nice, but a bit bewildered why a customer would be in the store.
