Same at our Fastenal. They try to be very helpful, but keep little in the way of tools in the store. Most of their hand tools are Asian. The C-man they carry is twice the price of Sears. I almost never see any cars there. Once I asked about a Bosch rotary hammer. The manager told me the price then said I could get the same Bosch item at Lowes for a lot less.

As far as "reconditioned" goes,I worked in a hardware store and had guys buy a Dewalt ???? in the morning and bring it back that afternoon or the next day and return it.It did not take long to figure out that they used it for the job they needed it for and then returned it.

I can't stand that type of crappy behavior. I bought a shop vac. from HD that when I took it out of the box at home, I found had been used for a bunch of dry wall dust.

Guy in the paint department told me guys would buy paint (like a 5 gallon primer or sealer) and return it the next day full of water.:shocking:

So they probably charged their customer, and got back their money :dunno:

When I worked @ Sears; they used to have a open ended return policy, people would buy lawn mowers, tractors, weed eaters etc.... then, at the end of the season... guess what?! You guessed it; they got refunds on it! We had a ton of stuff in the clearance section; all one season used lawn equipment! Then, next the summer.... it would happen all over again! Some people! Give a decent policy and people will take advantage of it! :(

I wonder if these people who do these types of things only do it with stores or do they conduct themselves like this in other aspects of their lives? I don't suppose you can really generalize: it's probably all kinds, but still. It's like when I see an a$$h0le driver in on the freeway. Other than the fact that they were an ***, I'd never think by looking at them, that "yeah, this person is an aggressive, careless, selfish pr!ck."

Did you ever catch guy pulling this type of stuff at Sears Billy? If so, what were these people like? Did they run the gamut demographically?
