To each his own, strikes me as a bit uptight though, it's all good fun. You know, keep it light and all that, don't take yourself so seriously, (no, not you, I meant the mindset) Every once in awhile I find a good place for the monkeys, like here : for instance!

Supergay guy or thing or whatever it is, is Hilarious and one of my favorites. Have a hard time finding a spot to put him in though. These break the tension and IMO are very usefull in diplomatic situations. Another board I am on have the standard three or four and no one uses them because there boring.

true, I seldom use them, but I guess they can be helpful for the reader when trying to figure out the writer's "tone of voice."
