I've been reading and reading and searching like crazy on here but cant seem to find what I'm looking for.I have a couple coating questions.

1)Simply put,do concrete densifier products change the surface texture of the concrete?

As in, will it "smooth" it out some when it reacts?

2)If not I've read I can coat it with eurethane clear to smooth it out, but I dont want the shiny wet look.I would prefer satin or flat actually. Is this available?

3)Is it worth it to use the densifier then clear over it or should I just use the eurethane clear?

4)Anyone have pics of a floor with just a densifier added?

I think I've finally made up my mind to go with a densifier rather than epoxy in my new 30 by 40 pole building. The floor has a hand troweled "smooth" finish. My shop will be used for metal fab and machining, plus lots of welding.I am looking for an easy to sweep/clean floor.

I've been looking at the legacy products HD37.

Thanks for any advice guys, great site,I'm totally addicted!

Here is pic of mine on move in day after using Legacy densifier. The floor will look just like it did before adding their product as it soaks into the surface. If you want any different look, apply a sealer or some other topcoat as it will still allow the floor to be stained but does cut down dusting on the concrete. Mine has a power troweled finish and it was fairly smooth to start with.

I just used the HD36, with an acrylic topcoat. Densifier didn't change anything visually on the floor- you'd never know it was there other than the lack of dusting, etc.

Their acrylic sealer is called "Gloss Sealer", but it's not like it gives you a glassy surface. More just a nice sheen. See my writeup on it for some pictures...

Thanks for the info Pitts.

I had read your review just before I posted my questions, nice job.

Very good,so that just leaves the question,is it worth it to use the densifier at all or just use a sealer alone?

Also is the eurethane sealer more durable then the acrylic sealer Pitts used?

Dont really care what color the floor is just has to be easy to sweep/wipe up.

Thanks again guys.

Sounds good,thanks Georgia.

So I'm looking at the HD37 and HD-356VOC Urethane Clear Coat, sound like a good plan?

Should do everything I want,be reasonably priced and also last longer than the acrylic.

Whoa. Hd356voc requires an epoxy primer, like our standard clear sealer.
I would only recommend densifier under the hd6415 sealer as densifiers help to block coatings from gaining a lock into the substrate.
