Yes im starting to think that a 16x24 1 car garage with concrete is more in my reach at this point in my life. I am talking to my buddies dad about paying him to help me (hes is a painter by trade but well versed in the trades and also my best friend is a framer)

This way i could more easily finish the building completely with the money that i have. Its a lot of money for me, i save all my money for large projects and have no debt in my life but still cheaper the better. Ive got my truck for buying materials off craigslist too.

Well if anyone is interested i have been researching a lot and it looks like I can have a metal building put up for a lot less than a pole barn or small stick built garage would cost me, and they look decent enough to match the house. 20x20 is 3800 installed add the concrete on a level sight i could have it up for 5-6k including permits (might be thinking about expanding to 20x25 :))

Called around for a few qoutes for garages etc, best qoute was 8500 for a stick build on concrete, 14x22 one car garage. Not too bad but the metal building is cheaper and bigger. Not to mention if i move i can dismantle the building and take it with me.

This website is interesting: http://www.gaport.com/ Also going to be calling versatube on monday for a qoute. http://www.versatube.com/

Just to throw this out...I had a 18x21 carport installed on an existing concrete pad at a rental house I was in. Cost about $700.00 to install, then maybe the same enclosing the sides. I also added a 48" lean-to on one side for storage, and a 60" lean-to on the back for a little more room. Fit my junk and projects just fine for about 2 years before I moved into a larger shop.

Today the same carport is protecting my junk about 100 miles away from the pictured location. So it was money well spent IMO.

Only issue is that because of where i live i will need a permit to add walls etc, yeah i could get away with it, but the location that i really want to put it up is viewable by the road. so its sort of easier to buy one that is pre engineered for sidewalls doors etc.

And yeah i definetly thought of calling up one of those companys and having them drop off a 12x20 shed but the floor is a problem, i have engines to move around etc, they will sink into the plywood on small metal wheels and i dont really trust jackstands and a car in there. Also considered having a container dropped off for temporary and still may do that even though its illegal per town law to have one viewable by the street.

Nobody makes this stuff easy or cheap and all the laws are against you, but f em il get it done.
