Hi all.
I am about to start on a new shop that will be a single slope design. I am going for the single slope simply for aesthetics. I have a house in the city limits which is a mid century split level home. I’m wanting the shop to match the home to a degree for resale value among other things.
I’m in NE Arkansas, so not much snow the years we do have snow. The plan is for a 27x36. It will be traditional stud framed with one garage door and one man door. Pitch will be 2/12 to keep the front wall height not too tall. I will have about a two foot overhang on the front wall. I am wondering if 2-1/2 x 11-7/8 I joists will be sufficient for the 27’ span. Plan was to set them on 2’ centers. I have seen much smaller size “rafters” in this part of the country for spans of similar but shorter distances with that same 2/12 pitch. I’ve asked a few local builders but have not gotten any hard answers.
Hoping some of the expertise here can benefit me.
Thanks to all in advance.

At 2:12 slope you don't need to de-rate from level loading.

Looks like an 11" tj I at 26 ft can carry 97 lbs/ft.

In your area, what are the requirements for roof loading? Is there a snow loading? (Not does it snow, but what is the requirement?)

That PDF has a lot of good info on framing details, stuff to pay attention to.

As best I can tell from a quick search snow loading requirement is 10 PSF.
