I’ve never needed one before that I know of but how could I pass this up? Other than soft and non sparking what other reasons are there for brass?

Look nice and are an essential item for any machine tool builder for reasons already stated, as are steel, lead, and rawhide mallets.

Are you in West Monroe? I attended college at NELU (now ULM?) in Monroe in 76.

Born and raised. I don’t live in WM anymore but stay close because my kids live there.

The higher density of brass is nice.
A small gentle tap can adjust things were you would need a larger quicker tap with another type of hammer, which then loses a certain amount of control.
