You went to way more trouble than I'd ever go - there's a shifter spring from an Easco ratchet likely still in the elbow of the kitchen sink drain from a similar "oops" moment here. I don't "do" plumbing, not for any reason anymore...

Do you need a replacement and know how big it is?

I have a little box full of little springs of all shapes and sizes. Whenever i take something apart i keep all the little springs and screws and stuff.

Thanks for the thought Moose, but I managed to find one at the hardware store that was the right diameter and twice the length - now I've got a spare half if I ever pull another oops with a Moore pear head ratchet. Well at least I think I got a spare - I just need to find where that other half rolled off to.....
