For something as utilitarian as those items I think you are looking at a stupid cost premium for no performance benefit. They are both just sheet metal boxes with some accessories. Nothing precision, nothing fancy. In your shop they will just say "I'm so flush I can afford to piss money away". That and the possibility that they will introduce contrived interpersonal conflict into your life. JMHO In the last few years I have gotten a large ZERO blast and peen cabinet with the cyclonic separator for $225 at auction and a small snap -on blast cabinet for free (had to get new gloves for it, but not from SO). Parts washers well, how 'bout 4 for $5 at an auction. The point is not that I got some good deals but that there are good deals out there if you keep looking and know what yo want and how much is too much.

I agree 100% EdT. I love Snap on stuff and actually was being snarky about the OCC thing. However I have a West Coast choppers bar\shop stool in my garage and I swear everyone loves that dumb thing. I use a blast cabinet rarely but am looking for a good one and will get the best I can afford but won't piss $ on it. I'm a “buy a tool one time have it forever” (unless I lose or loan it) guy and generally don't buy junk. The parts washer I will use a ton and have gallon paint can contraption with a basket and tooth brush so I'll get that first.

you would have to threaten me with death to get me to pay 1200 for a used blast cabinet. i think a 400$ cabinet and a 5$ OCC poster would be money better spent.

Make one out of a 45 gallon (you lot will no doubt call it a 55 gallon drum but you have little gallons over in the US as I understand it) drum HERE, HERE and HERE.

I've not tried it yet but it can't be rocket science can it.

There's no way on earth I would pay for a Snap On one at that kind of money, some people have more money than sense.

WOW! very kewl Demographic! I love that idea thanks. I'm learning to weld that seems like a great project idea plus it won't hurt if it looks a bit rough and yep we call 55 gallon drums. I can put a snap on OCC sticker on it ;-)

Any groovy parts washer ideas I'm luvin these ideas. I'm sure I could serach but all those links are great sites as well. This site ROCKS!

I...I'm worried it will start yelling and fighting with me and creating crazy deadlines and make me feel more useless than I already feel about myself..

Same fear about this OCC Snap On parts washer it yells "I wash my hands of you!" when you turn it on
