Tekton offers very good value for the money.
Just an FYI, if your shopping online be sure to compare pricing with Tekton's website. Recently, buying direct has turned out to be the least expensive on some stuff, and they offer free shipping on many items.

I bought a set of the long flex ratcheting wrenches 6pt I haven't used them, but they look good. I got 2 screwdrivers from Meijer's they are USA Made I actually like the way they feel.
Can't vouch for dependability but all the rave reviews of customer service made me think its not bad stuff to use.

I don't own any Tekton, but have heard decent things about them. But they haven't won me over yet. Just about all of their tools are just rebrands of others. Some are decent, some are not very good at all. Nothing seems exceptional where it would make me want to instabuy. I do have my eyes on a couple Tekton tools that I'm just waiting to get to the right price point.

I just bought the long 3/8 extension set. Fit and finish was not up to the 1/4 set I got the year before. Chrome was not polished but looked like it was barely plated. The prices have been increasing steadily over time.

I have heard "Tekton doesn't skip sizes" about a million times but it never becomes true...11-32 no skips! Unless you need 20,23,25,26,28,29,31....Crowsfoot set no skips! Unless you need 12,16,18,20...and on and on.
You may think those sizes do not exist, or think they are never used, but you would be wrong. Hence why I bought sunex impact sockets. Hence why I bought my big metric wrenches through Cripe (Allen, think they're sold out now though)
Yes, a lot of stuff is made in the same factory as HF. MIT, not the University TLA.

I just received the fractional set of long flex DBE's myself. They do seem nice, and I also haven't truly used them. Got mine on Amazon but then I might have seen a better price at homedepot.com (not certain, not gonna look LOL)

I am not impressed. I wanted a couple of small adjustable wrenches. Amazon had 4" & 6" wrenches listed at a decent price. I received them today, both made in China. The fit and finish is poor and the adjustment screws are loose. I guess these are the things to avoid and I'm taking Tekton off my list for future purchases.

I love those screwdrivers. In Florida we sweat every day so to get good torque you need a good handle and I like these as much as my Matcos and Weras and they are cheaper and USA made.
A side note to you guys up north. We are in a "winter storm" today. 30 mph winds at 10:30 in the morning and it's still 76 degrees outside. Probably 80-85 in the garage.

The only Tekton product I would have ever recommend over the years, was this set of drivers.
For $10, I picked them up for a one time job and they did admirably. The case is great, handles ergo, and they spin properly with correct downforce on the HW. All of the design/engineering has been done for a solid product.
Just be forwarned...they worked reall well (and fit nicely) until the "black oxde blasted tips" wore down and revealed them selves to be just black paint...with the tips full-chromed finish underneath, which means they are soft and slippery and just a step up from junk.
So after that, I am done with Tekton...they have good warranty service...so they are a grade above HF on that front.... but I have never really had a product of theirs last more than about a year of any kind of regular use.
I would say could have been worth the 1/2 price of decent kits, which start at $20-22...and a compelling choice to recommend tothers...if ONLY they just had TRUE black oxide tips. These drivers lasted maybe 8-10 uses with the "paint" covering the chrome, which immediately became noticeble worse fitment, wanting to slip/cam out etc.

I love my Tekton impact sockets. I have the extensions but haven't used them yet. May I suggest the Sunex swivel instead of the impact universal. The swivels seem to hold up longer and transfer energy better. I am sure they do that at the expense of not being able to go to quite as large of angle.

I have 5 nut drivers, several sets of pliers, and a metric wrench set from them. They have all held up over a year in an Industrial maintenance setting. I am wanting to try their long 3/8 and 1/2 ratchets.

Sorry, didn't see your post as I hadn't revisited this thread until now. I use it pretty much any time I'm going to drill a hole in metal to keep the bit from wandering off-mark before it bites. Usually goes: layout paint > scribe lines using a machinist square > center punch > drill. I sometimes use it on plastics too and then I don't need the layout paint.

I bought one of these a couple weeks back. Haven't had a chance to try it yet. I do have some long 3/8" extensions, a dead-blow mallet and their 5' groove-joint pliers along with 1/2" drive deep metric impact sockets. I've been satisfied with all of them.

They feel way better then any HF tools I have ever seen.

I had to use my air hose today... Had to help it recoil again, It was leaking air as I helped it re-coil..what a POS! Customer service is just as good.

Our reels are guaranteed. Have you tried getting ahold of us? I can't remember a time where someone has had trouble with a reel and not got taken care of.

Does anybody have experience with Tekton 3/4 drive impact sockets? COO appears to be China but they are advertised as cr-mo. A similar taiwanese set from sunex is roughly $100 more and does not have the included ratchet and extensions in the tekton set. Primary uses for the set will be wheel end work and main bearings/head bolts on cummins isx.

I've liked everything I've bought so far.
- 3/8 socket set - it's complete and is well made
- 1/4 torque wrench - feels well made, works as I'd expect, has a nice case
- adapters and reducers - affordable and useful
- hex sockets - affordable and not something that I abuse, they work
