My old Lincoln 175GS doesn't work like it used to. Seems that it only works on one setting, wire speed around 1.5 (out of 10) and power around 4.5 (out of ten). If I vary from these setting, it goes bonkers. bump the wire speed a tad, it's too much wire. ramp up the power a tad and blow holes in everything. Ramp down the power a scosh, cold globs.

So I'm basically left with a one setting welder. I tested the resistor pots, but wiht out specs it was inconclusive. No big issues were revealed. I don' know of any other tests I can do, and at $90 per hour, might just be better off putting tha $90 towards that new Miller 211 I have been drooling over.

Anyone have any input as to what might be up with old sparky? Thanks!

Greg
