I need to purchase a 1" drive impact over the next few months.

I have a IR titanium 3/4 " drive. It's been good, I have rebuilt it a couple of times over the years. No biggie. It still hits hard.
The 1" version is basically the same thing with a one inch anvil.

I would like to keep the price around 1-1200.00. I would like to have a lighter weight one for impacting 300-400 nuts/bolts in a day if need be.

Any good suggestions?

Check out the Mac or Proto. Came out in the last couple of years. They seem to be powerful and lightweight. They have both the pistol grip and D handle versions.

Have always used the old school Chicago made in Japan tire shop type. Heavy as anything but they do stand up.

I have a CP 796 that needs the housing replaced. The housing is about $550 and $25 for valve and seals. It came from a railroad purchasing agent's retirement auction. The paint looks like it may not have been used. $100 and shipping. I have a twin to it that I use a few times a year. I also have an IR long shaft for truck wheels. My 796 will snap 7/8" bolts if you don't soak them before trying to break them loose, It's a beast even compared to an 1" long gun.

One I'm looking at is a cat branded made in Japan impact. It is 915.00. The downside is it is 26 pounds.

For that much use I'd have to get the Proto offering due to it's lighter weight

We use the CP big old school guns at work. I couldn't imagine 300-400 bolts a day...unless I slung it from a crane (which I have done for repetitive work)

That CP 796 is quite a tool for sure. Industrial Model no. is a 611. Output 2800 FT LB. MAX. working torque 1800 FT. LB.
That's a great price on Amazon. Right around the cost to small distributors.

The earthquake has a lot of power for the price and it was used in a large shop servicing buses and dump trucks. It does weight 22 lbs however
