I got a 3rd brake light emblem for my Ford Ranger, works great but I suggest you clearcoat it very well.

That is exactly what I'm talking about. Where did you wire it in?

Here's a little something I made at my last job with the water jet. Just practicing my programming.

And that I'd AWESOME. Did you powder coat it or anything? Or leave it bare?
I bet you could water jet multiple bowties and have them get gradually smaller. Then layer them over another smallest to largest to make it "4d" or "3d"

I think its unnecessary to get fancy with creativity. Some here have mentioned painting it the same color as your vehicle and I would go along with that. An alternative would be to paint a base coat of a good bright silver, then a couple of coats of transparent red, follow up with several coats of clear. Red has been used on the Chevy insignia so that would be correct. The transparent red with the silver base could have some depth to it.

I think creativity is the only thing that really makes a ride "custom" anymore.

And I have never seen an led mat, but i have seen "neon" strips per say that are vibrant throughout the strip. It reminds me more of a neon sign but instead of glass tubes, the light is in a tiny flexible rope with 2 wires out one end. Imagine someone could trace an emblem with that stuff fairly easily.

Bare stainless steel. I'm a Toyota guy, so I didn't do anything with it. Kinda surprised I still have it.

I did this for the hood of Billy's 1976 Vega. It's one of the smallest multi-color powder jobs I've ever done to date. He was in too big of a hurry to let me clean up the scratches first LOL. :D

I have his bowtie emblem for one of his Novas, the '73, to do too but he hasn't decided on a paint color yet; I'm sure it'll tie in with that somehow.
