Hey Fellas I need a good mechanic's work light. The one I have had for years is one of the old ones that you just screw the bulb in and that thing gets so hot it burns the piss out of me every time I touch it. I bought a plastic one from Sears a few years ago that had two 6in. long fluorescent bulbs in it for $29.00 that thing didn't last two days. Tell me what do you guys that do it for a living use as a work light. I need one that won't brake the first time I drop it.
Thanks Guys

Go down to your local NAPA auto parts and check out the Blue Fuel Lights, they are led, last a long time and take a beating. They are the Schumacher lights just rebranded for napa, tool trucks sell the same thing for $80. Napa is around $30. I had one and I accidentally drove a dually motorhome over it. It suffered zero damage. Then I lost it a few weeks later in a customer vehicle. 35a13c4f39397508308e5702d93f3cbd.jpg403203ff1afa7e9a620675ac0c01cc4d.jpg28508590f1d05cafbba2bb9eb9199b80.jpg

My boss just got us these for Christmas. They work great and I haven't charged it in a month.

the best corded light is the 3 dollar drop light from lowes or home depot and a 20 dollar LED bulb 1200 lumin. buy it give them your number and when the bulb gose out in a year they will swap you a new one.... also led bulbs are the best my co workers have yet to break it as they dropped it 100 time day one.

if you want cordless buy what ever brand of cordless drill you already own so batteries match

I use a snap on compact rechargeable with the magnetic base, I also have a stream light stinger flashlight. However, my favorite and most used light ever is the zebralight headlamp. Super bright and the light is always where you're looking. It's not perfect for every situation, but it gets used 90% of the time.

I have one of these square like Bayco lights that you get from Walmart. They dont cost much. I think i gave $20 for it. Within the first week i busted the plastic hook off of it. I used a wire to replace the hook. Ive had the light for a few years. Its been beat up pretty good. One of the bulbs did fall out on the inside but i just pushed it back in. Its an OK light. Not overly bright and takes a bit to warm up when its cold. The light does have a 110v outlet on it thats quite useful. I guess ive gotten my $20 out of it. Not overly impressive but adequate.

LED is the way to go!

About a month ago, I picked up a Snap-On 2000 Lumens 25W LED work light for $18 at Costco. Not sure if they still have those.

Schuie LED Light

This light hands down, it's a $100 light up here in Canada.
I don't know how you can get it for $30 when the manufacturer website is $80 USD

SL360r is a solid light, I just reviewed the main site and they have some different lights. What model number do you have jake?

Milwaukee M18 and M12 LED Srick lights. You'll never by another brand and probably won't need to anyway.

Here is the link to the Napa Website, and they are 40 on the napa website, I must have got it on sale at 30, but its the same one as the Schumacher, I had both of them. And even napa says list price $80. Haha https://www.napaonline.com/napa/en/p/NBC85911/NBC85911
