I reserved a material lift from Sunbelt rental as I needed to lift a 600lb wood stove into a truck bed. The yard guy couldn't get the smallest unit to lower so now I have a 3-4 mast one. At 6' 2" ish he was able to muscle it into our truck(F150)with it laying flat in the bed.
Yes, everything I do includes a story.
Lift is to long so it need to ride upright, again the yard guy is able to do that, I tie it down and roll.
I'm meeting another person who's picking up a hydraulic press I sold him so after all that, I'm back to how in the h×ll am I going to get the lift out of the truck.
Three hours later I have the lift out, stove loaded and don't want to think how I'm going to load it back into a truck solo. Here it is the next morning and that glowing problem is staring me in the face again.
I'm going to use my F350 long bed so maybe with the A-frame I'll be able to hoist it up in a horizontal position and lay it flat into the truck.
So back to my original question on buying a material lift, maybe something like this? I'm really trying to work smarter. The blue one is the type I rented.

I have a similiar manual lift to your photo by Presto. Mine has a platform but it's also available with forks. My other lift is also by presto, it's a counterweighted electric/hydraulic with forks, I built a platform to go over the forks when needed. I use these constantly and love them. Not just for unloading stuff but as an auxiliary work platform to raise stuff up to working height.
