Lost my remote and need a new one. It's an older Craftsman 1/2 hp manufactured in 2009. The part # is 41A5021-3M-315. I Googled it and a bunch came up but nothing exactly matching my part #. What to do?

Does your garage door opener and the lost remote use the little dip switches (usually 7 to 10 of them) to set them up? Or does your garage door opener and the lost remote use the floating code button on the back of the opener to set them up?

Most of the remotes are universal, meaning that if you need a dip switch version, as long as you get one with the same number of dip switches that are on the opener it will work.

The same for the rolling code remotes. They are pretty much universal for that type of opener.

My father-in-law lost his original remotes for his garage opener over the years, and his opener uses the rolling code button on the back of the opener. He just buys whichever rolling code remote is the cheapest off of Amazon and programs it using the button on the back of the opener.

Here is a picture of the ones he has now from Amazon.

Craftsman branded liftmaster openers seemto be sold by the color button on the opener. I bought a couple pairs on ebay for two "purple learn button" craftsmans. $15 for 2.
Descriptions matched the part numbers for 315mhz openers.
