It's as simple as salt, but I can't find what I need.

I need the lead screw retaining clip that holds it in place as I'm opening the jaws. viseparts.com can't help me. I called. I'm surfing McMaster Carr, but I hate to buy what I'm not sure will work.

Any suggestions?

I will assume the D45 is similar to the D44.

Attached is a picture of my D44 disassembled. The lead screw has a groove that the spring clip slipped into.

On my Prentiss Bulldog 51 the castellated retainer was missing so I purchased a collar with set screw with a bore to match the lead screw. I also used thrust washers to take out the slop in the assembly.

Hope these help you in your search.

First time I have looked at the bottom of this Columbian. Check out the fix for the ring you are missing, two washers and some copper wire to hold them in place :lol_hitti

I think I got her figured out. Thanks to all, including vise parts.com. I had some good suggestions, and I'll get one of them in place as soon as the paint dries.

This is a good place. I think I'll hang around a little, if you don't mind.
