I need help or suggestions

I am building my garage but I'm having trouble getting electric to it the powe company says it costs 6.00 per foot to set me a new pole by my garage and the nearest one is aprox 400 feet away my meter to my house is 200 feet away some tell me though they can get enough power out of my meter to run my shop I don't think so here's a list of what I have
a large air compressor a 120 volt welder about 20 8 foot flourescent lights a small hot water heater a and enough wervice to not have to worry about kicking breakers all the time

how many amps is the service at your house?

From what you have listed there.It is not all that much to run.

The main question is "What amperage do you have at the panel now?100 or 200 Amps?

Is the panel already loaded up with breakers or is there just a couple in there.

Pics of the house panel would also help with your delema.
