You'll probably want to rip some of those 2x4's into 2x2's.

YOu need to add more details for the info you're looking for.

Determine the size you need to build, construct a frame, skin with the plywood. No need to make it more difficult than that.

Depending on the plywood thickness, and the tools you have, a frame may not be necessary. Cabinets are just boxes with one side open that you hang a door on.

Check Kregs site for projects. I'm sure there is enough ideas to get you going. http://www.kregtool.com/project_plan.html

I'm on the wrong computer at the moment, but when I had wood cabinets in my garage, I built a 2"x4" framework, then made all of the fronts from !"x3" pine. The top cabinets I made from 1"x12" pine shelving, with 1"x3" fronts. The doors.....I found a place that sold seconds for $5 a piece. Nothing wrong with them except maybe a misplaced hinge pocket, wrong grain, just some subtle little differences. If I remember, when I go in for the evening, I post some pics.

For starters though, I'd check out Kregs, then do a search for some other woodworking sites. Also when you're at the store, check out Family Handyman or some of the other popular woodworking mags. They usually have some great storage ideas.

Here is a sketch of 3'x4'x16" deep wall cabinets that I built out of 3/4 sanded plywood. This is by far the cheapest way to build strong basic cabinets for shop or garage use. I attempted to buy used cabinets from craigslist and the local Habitat "Restore". Everything was too expensive for the volume enclosed. Painted mine white and good enough for the shop.
