I need input on vintage box values

I came across these today and not sure if I can turn these for enough to make it worthwhile. they have tools in them including some vintage SO/CM/Mac some of which I would sell but there is alot of junk in there too. He wants $500 for both. The left is SO prolly from the 50's not in great shape but not bad, the right is a Mac bottom and middle with a CM top that has a full cover top/front. I am trying to figure out if I can atleast break even selling the boxes. BTW this is around St Louis.

I don't think you'd have any problem getting $250-300 for the stack on the right. For the other one, I think you could get $100-150 minimum. Those boxes all look pretty decent to me. I'd offer him $350 and see what he says.

Are you hoping you can sell the boxes so the tools will be free?

he is very firm on the prices but might soften over the next week because he is moving out of state. I am interested on some of the tools and would sell the rest I just want to atleast break even without tying up money for a long time.
