I need new safety glasses

I'm looking for safety glasses (not goggles) that completely covers all around the eyeball, where nothing at all can get through. Does anyone know where I can buy this type of safety glasses?

I like these because they are light. lenses are pretty much fog proof. and they will accept a prescription insert (which is good if your like me and you depend on glasses)

BUT! all eye wear has its place. Depending on what your doing will dictate what kind of eye wear you need. Would i wear a pair of ess and expect it to protect me from chemical splash/spray? No. so the full face that jack posted would be best for those situations. But the glasses style are good for general use around the shop.

I always like to have something over my eyes. Because its the time your not wearing eye protection that gets you.

i wear oakley mframes. they were the only glasses that i found to fit the way i liked. plus i can change the lenses for when i work outside in the sun. but thats just my 2cents

wiley x has one kind with a replaceable gasket all the way around each eye. they are really nice. i wore them on a steel mill job. worked pretty well. mine are prescription. even though they are the exact same prescription, it bothers me a little while when i change between glasses.

They rock. Also protect your neck. You can get shaded lenses for use with a torch/plasma also.

3M makes some nice cheap stuff. I never saw the point in buying designer safety glasses or expensive stuff since the lenses get all scratched up anyway.

A couple years ago I picked up some motorcycle riding glasses at Wal-Mart for $10-15 that had some foam around the eyepieces. It would be pretty tough for any little specks of anything to get around them.

Lab Safety and Supply (LSS.com) has a lot of choices. I bought two identical pairs of steel frame safety glasses from them, one for work and one for the range. I think they were about $12 a pair.

Edit: I bought the MCR Safety brand, "Barbwire" model. They're $13.10 each for the clear lenses, and have very nice metal frames.

They are perhaps a bit more like goggles than the OP will want, but they hold firm to your head and have the isolation foam around the eyes to keep stuff out of them when you need it. When not, you can pop them open a bit to allow air in. Importantly for me, you can have prescription lenses made for them and they snap in. Not cheap unfortunately, but I've not found anything else that allows one to put in prescription lenses and take them out, while providing around the eye protection.

The most comfortable pair of safety glasses are the Pyramex Reattas. I put them on first thing in the morning and I completely forget they're on my head.
