I'm Graduating College in May and i need a tool box, im working as a truck and coach technician. I dont have the money for a MAC or Snap-on tool box so i will need to settle with Mastercraft (maxiumum) or Craftsman. Any suggestions? i pretty much spent all my money on tools from MAC with the discount you get while in school.

Where about are you located? If you are anywhere near a Menards, if I needed a cheap box, I would get a 36" bottom for $350 and add a side box. A craftsman box will hold together for a few years while starting out. A lot of guys here love the hf box too. There is always the used market, but you need time and cash to find the right box for you. What are you looking to spend?

Keep your eye on kijiji for used truck brand boxes. You're in a fairly big city so I would imagine theyd come up fairly often. Have cash in hand and have at it! I live in a smaller town and I got my SO box from kijiji.

Good suggestion, there are tons of deals on Kijiji. On another note, I like how you referred to the largest city in Canada as "fairly big".

The craftsman pro boxes are nice like the master craft. If you are really tight on cash, the HF red boxes are pretty good as well.

There are lots of boxes on Kijiji in the GTA in your price range. Saw a Mastercraft Maximun 56" bottom for $850 and there's a 36" Mac Dale Earnhardt box for a grand. Lots of choices. Why but new if you can get a nice box in good shape used for half the money?

Lol yeah, my bad :lol_hitti Guess I've spent too much time south of the border and grew used to seeing a city the size of TO every thousand miles or so.

So, lemme retry.....OP, you live in the biggest city in Canada, kijiji will have the toolbox you seek. ;)

+1 for the harbor freight box, can't beat it for the price. Save up for a SO upgrade

If I were you, I'd rather spend less on a toolbox and more on the contents, plus if automotive stuff is like aviation, there is always a tech that is needing money and will trade you their box, for yours with a little boot.
