I need valve spring compressor

that can remove the exhaust valves from an F head jeep motor. For those unfamiliar, the f head has the exhaust valves in the block and the intakes in the head. I tried my old Matco C clamp style and it just wants to pull off center. Anyone ever done this? If so, what kind of clamp do I need and where can I buy it?

I'm not familiar with that engine but I have looked into this one a few times when I thought I might need a spring compressor. It's made by schley and very universal. Google it and watch some videos to see all it can do.

EDIT: I just googled your engine and don't think the link I put above would work for you but you will probably be able to tell for sure better then me.

I'd sell you mine. Haven't worked on flatheads in a a few decades.

I have seen those, I don't think they have enough throat. Almost 6 inches from keeper to top of valve.

That's not how they work. It's made to slide into the opening in the side of the block and squish the spring together, nothing to do with the head of the valve.
