An alternate reality in a parallel universe.
I've been jonesing for two Williams 1/4" drive sets, WSM-38HFTB SAE set and the MSM-30HFTB Metric sets, plus a few extra ratchets thrown in for good measure. I don't think there is enough visual stimulation on this forum in regards to Williams, so lets see'em, 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4", 1" drive and more.

Also does Williams have printed catalogs? I've only been able to vew their digital catalog thus far.

These Bahco wrenches have GOT to be made by Williams! I could be wrong though. But both companies are subsidiaries of Snap On so there is a correlation, and the likelihood they are the same.

I just bought these in May, wish they had a metric set too. :D

The first photo shows Bahco, S-K raised panel, and Craftsman raised panel comparisons or 5/8".

I've tried to download a catalog from both Bahco and Williams. Neither have a pdf version to download. It looks to me like the same web designer did both websites. Try calling them to ask for a print version.

Only trouble is that, to my knowledge, their best ratchets (B-52 and S-52) aren't included in any of their sets. The sets include only the 36-tooth pearheads and the Taiwan fingerfit ratchets.

Thanks, I didn't know that, but upon closer inspection, they don't look the same. I don't think they are full-polish. Also note the wrench handles near the open-end of the wrenches. That is the same style Williams makes. The metric set you link to isn't the same in their photo.

Steve

To the OP - Your Bahco wrenches are the same as Williams Supercombos. The only difference is the Supercombos have ridges on the open end, sort of like Flank Drive Plus.
Here's a link.

The wrenches someone else linked to are from Williams' import line. They look to be the same as the Blue Point wrenches. The Williams import ratchets and sockets also look to be pretty much identical to the Blue Point tools.

Here's how Williams works: If it's a 5 digit number it's imported, and if it doesn't have the american flag on the catalog page it's probably imported. A lot of their stuff is still made in USA.

If you get a set, do a very good inspection of the chrome. My dealer had a bunch of new 1/4" sets, every one had 2 or 3 sockets with chrome peel.

THANKS! The fact that Williams sort of mixes up the domestic and import lines has probably been the main reason I have stayed away from Williams. And I guess that also relates to most tool manufacturers. But those Bahcos have "USA" clearly stamped on them. :D

I think you can still get a good deal on those wrenches at Amazon. Still wishin' they had the metric set too. :)

Thanks again,
Steve
