I have a model number V234N that I rebuilt 30 years ago. Worked real well and has light use but was removed five years ago. I am thinking of putting it to use. Anybody with much experience with these. What would be the max rpm that I could do

Your best bet would be is to call IR and have your model number handy and they will look it up and tell you what min and max rpm and also the rated cfm at what hp motor your driving it with.

The older compressors turned around 540 RPM, motor turned 1725rpm, they lasted and were quiter than the newer compressors that turned 3450rpm, that is why the newer units were smaller, they turned them faster to get the CFM's higher
