Since i bought my house last summer I've bought and then sold a 56 inch husky top and bottom, a 46 inch rolling work bench, and a 52 inch Milwaukee set. None of them quite worked. I have limited space in the garage basically half, believe it or not I have to share it with my wife. On top of that the previous owner had built this 13 foot long work bench that is a blessing and a curse with it's size. I came close to ripping it out but I couldn't bring myself to do it. Then I found 2 of the 52 inch husky rolling work stations for 75.00 and I bought the 46 inch for 199.00 and decided to rebuild the work bench to accommodate the 3 boxes. I think it looks pretty good, not done still have to add some bracing in front and I may frame the boxes in for a more finished look.

It's kind of weird knowing this is probably the set up I'm going to live with for a long while. I should be able to fit all of my tools in this set up with some room to grow. So thanks to you guys and this website for the inspiration. Now I just need a cool old vise, and I have to figure out where to put my little 1950s snap on bottom, and... I guess you're really never done huh

Nice bench bud. Don't be bummed by the fact that might be your final set up for years, it's very cool and very functional. At this point maybe one day a stainless top? ;)

Good setup, man. If you want a cool old vise (recommend 4.5"+), find the vise thread and contact one of the guys from Michigan.

Nice setup, should hold a lot of stuff. I'd be pleased to be past the working on the garage storage stage and ready to use it. That's the object of workbenches and storage. Sometimes in the quest to have a nice set of pictures to post here, we lose sight of the objective.

I was eyeballing those chests at Home Depot the other day. They're not top quality chests, but a lot of chest for the price. I prefer the split drawers rather than a big huge top drawer, probably more durable especially on a cheaper chest. Having 2 or 3 of them under a work bench like you did is a nice cheap way to get a **** ton of storage. Looks really nice.

That's a nice setup there. You can never have too much storage. One thing to remember is to stay flexible with your layout. If you build the bench over the toolboxes leave just enough room to roll boxes out and they double them and extra work tables when needed.

Thanks guys. I can't wait to get everything organized. I've already done a few projects in there but it will be awesome to do one with everything in its right place.
