Thanks Guys, I've got the downstairs dry walled and taped up but dont have the mud on yet. Upstairs will have to wait till down is done. My two son's helped with the drywall (couldn't have done it with out them) but the mudding I think I'm on my own so it's going to take awhile.

You wont believe this, I'm one piece of siding short on the side wall and the store I got it from is out. So they will have to order it and will take a couple of weeks.

The overhead door wont be white when done, It'll either be the same as the windows or barn red also.

Wow! That siding is sharp! Very nice!

Is there a door or something to block the upstairs from the downstairs? Just wondering how you keep dust, fumes, smoke, noise, etc. out of the "craft area"?

babzog, thanks for the compliment! Right now I have a piece of particle board cut to seal off the upstairs to keep the heat downstairs. Upstairs is still open studs, hope to get on that later this summer.

That is some of the neatest taping and mudding I have ever seen. I wish you lived nearby so you could demonstrate on my current garage redo. Great Job!

I agree, you should have seen the pigs that did my shop. I am stlll cleaning up after them. I even let them use my scissor lift and the covered the platform with mud.

Amazing exterior details! Would love to see a shot from the road including the house when you can.

My first reaction also. I'd be tempted to just clear coat that instead of painting it. I could stand to look at that for a long time.

Thanks Crizzle, still a ongoing project here's some updated pics of the downstairs.

Wall cabinets are Gladiator from Lowes bought when they had them on clearance. Floor cabinets are Black and Decker, I also bought them from Lowes when they were on clearance.

Finally got my 32 jnch flat screen hooked up.

I brought this Bubble Up clock from my old garage, I figure its about 25 to 30 years old, still keeps good time. The hammers have sentimental value to me the one on the left was my Grandpa's and the one on the right was my Dad's.

This build is definately one of my favorites. Nice attention to detail, and the colors are perfect on the garage. I look forward to checking back on progress.

So many things to like about your build! LOVE IT! I may do a similar 'hammer' tribute in my garage, in honor of my dad who passed away in 2008.

No I haven't done any finish on the floors yet, kinda not sure if I will, there may be times I weld in there and I think that would leave burn splatters .

Just wanted to show my never ending garage project. Over the summer I built this brick sidewalk.

We had to cut out the old asphalt first.

Dig out by hand, no equipment here just back bone, and add crushed gravel for a base.

Well, it took me almost all summer but I finally got it done.

Wow... Great looking finished product. It's very odd being from the Gulf Coast and seeing what seems to be AMERICANS hammering and digging. Very Odd indeed... I like it~!

What part of the photograph makes you assume they are American?

This is one of my favorite builds I've seen. The attention to detail is good and it just pops out at you. Congrats on your hard work and enjoy it.

Thanks guys, I wouldn't want to be a landscaper that builds sidewalks and stone walls, it about killed me. Those guys earn their money!

I forgot to subscribe to this build-doh!:(

So glad it has come back to the front pages again.

What a fabulous building-you deserve to be rightly proud of it and have a decent space to wrench after all those years outside.
