All windows sold today seem to be wind resistant vinyl or high end wood. I want a aluminum frame window for an interior wall. I have a 3 car garage and want to put a wall to separate the 3rd garage from the other two spaces.

I 'd like to install a door with a window or maybe a storm door from the 2nd to third garage plus a window like a 36 high by 48 wide next to the door. this will be a work shop that I will air condition.

Where can I buy a cheaper aluminum frame window ? Single hung window connected with a mull bar would be OK but I think a slider would be better. I don't plan on opening the windows much if ever.

I did not have much luck on eBay. thanks in advance, John

You could look for a window from a mobile home. Some of those are aluminum, I think. Do you have a ReStore nearby? Those are good for when you don't necessarily need a specific size/color of something.

Go to a window shop and ask to look in their salvage bin. The ones I've worked for save the aluminum windows for scrap aluminum and will sell you some for scrap value.

Hey,
Check your local Habitat. The closest I can find is in Daytona Beach, 695 Mason Ave, Daytona Beach, FL 32117. Phone: (386) 226-2006. I'm always surprised with their supply of new and used building materials

I one time ordered several aluminum frame windows from a high rise window supplier. I believe they were called "outside prime only" windows . they were basically half of the frame, split at the thermal break .
they were horizontal sliders with a screen , .
the windows were about 2" overall and were used as replacement basement windows where space was limited for width of jamb

you may find some at HAbitat etc that can be split.
