I want an Air Meter!

Due to the configuration of my drive, house, and garage, it is cumbersome to drag out the airline and garden house to do routine maintenance on the fleet.

So, I'm thinking of seizing the opportunity and create a little old-fashion "service station" type thing on the side of my house.

I'd love to put up a working eco air meter and some kind of vintage looking hose station. Maybe also a oil can station or other fun stuff.

My problem is that although authentic original would be great, I'm not sure I want it that close to the street and also out in the weather. I'm not real fond of the price also :eyecrazy: !

I've browsed a little, but I can seem to find an answer I'm looking for. What is the most affordable/decent looking way for me to do this? Seems like all the parts are available to build one except for the shell casting?

The price is whats keeping most of the members from having one. $800-$1000+. I know where there are 6, yes 6 of them  but sadly :sad:they are all in use.

Get yourself one of these, once you use it there will be no turning back. Self calibrating, so it will be accurate forever.

The eco ones sure look neat but have you considered something of a later vintage? I bet there are plenty of 70s & 80s vintage coin operated air pumps out there that would look pretty cool and no one is collecting them! I have been meaning to keep an eye out for an older one still in use and then offer to buy it from the station owner when he is ready to replace.

I've got an EcoFlator.... Looks cool and even my wife can use it.

It was expensive and leaks a bit... That blockhead thing looks pretty cool though.

Thanks for the ideas. I do like the idea of the coin-op one. Maybe I could get some profit from the neighbors!

I did find a guy that sells the front & back case. Problem is he wants over $300 for the set. Add in the internals, and I bet I'd be over the cost of an original.

The hunt continues....

What about mounting an air hose reel and a water reel in the bottom section of a gas pump - add hinges on the bottom panel for easy access?

I picked this one up at a yard sale a few weeks ago for $250. Complete and working with hose and air chuck. It should be an easy restoration. They are still out there!
